Order custom shutters and shades online, at a published price
Most window treatment companies only give you a price at a kitchen-table appointment. 818 Shutters & Shades publishes its prices and lets you configure, sample, and order online. A designer visit is still available if you want one, but it is optional.
How it works

Pick a package and see the price
Choose Essential, Premium, or Designer, tell us how many windows and roughly how big, room by room, and the total updates as you go. Shutters are $55, $72, and $95 per square foot installed. Shades are priced per window by size.

Choose fabrics from real samples
Pick the colors and materials you are leaning toward. We put the swatches in the mail straight away, and nothing is built until you have held them and confirmed your choice.

Measure yourself, or send us
Measuring takes about ten minutes with a steel tape and we walk you through it. If one of your measurements is wrong, we remake that piece and bill it at what it costs us, with no markup. Prefer not to? A $150 pro measure makes the fit our responsibility: if it doesn't fit, the remake is ours. The pro measure is included on orders over $2,000.

Lock your price with a refundable deposit
California caps the deposit on a home improvement contract at 10% or $1,000, whichever is less, and that is what you pay. It holds your rate and starts the samples moving, and it is refundable until we schedule the final measure.

Your quote, contract, fabric selections, order status, and balance live in one customer portal. Installation is included in the package price.

Per square foot, installed, with a 12 square foot minimum per opening. Shades are priced per window by size inside the configurator.

Example: a 36 by 60 inch window is 15 square feet, so $825 to $1,425 installed depending on package. Shades carry the manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty (cellular shades and motors: 5 years), and every install carries our 12-month workmanship warranty. Warranty details.

Yes. At 818 Shutters & Shades you configure your windows online, see the price as you go, receive samples in the mail, and place a refundable deposit. An in-home visit is optional: $150, credited to your order.

What happens if I measure wrong?

Yes, until we schedule your final measure. The deposit is 10% of the project, capped at $1,000 under California law.
Do I get to see fabric samples before anything is made?
Yes. Swatches are mailed to you as soon as you order, and nothing goes into production until you have confirmed your selection.
